Question/Problem
Configuring: Grouping and Ungrouping Domains

Answer/Solution

When you first log into DomainCentral , you see all of the domains in your account in one big list, called My Domains. Notice that the group heading notifies how many domains are in this list.

If you already have some groups configured, then the My Domains section heading changes to My Ungrouped Domains. The domains in this section do not belong to any group. If you choose to group some of these domains in a new group, or move them to an existing group, they will no longer display in the My Ungrouped Domains list.

To create a group of domains:

  1. Log into DomainCentral.
  2. Select the check box next to the domain name that you would like to place in a group. More than one domain can be selected.
  3. Click Modify Selected Domains. The Edit Multiple Domains page is displayed. Notice that the selected domains are listed in the Selected Domains sections.
    1. Verify that all the domains you wish to change are listed in the Selected Domains section.
    2. If you wish to go back and select more domains, or different domains, click the choose other domains... link.
  4. In the Please Choose an Action section, select the Group/Ungroup Domains radio button. Once the button is selected, the appropriate controls appear at the bottom of the page.
  5. Notice the How do you want these domains to be grouped? drop down box. In the drop down there are three options. Only two are applicable for grouping domains:

    • Add to Existing Group: If there are previously created groups, they are all listed here. Simply select the group, from the available list, to which you wish to add the selected domains.

    • Add to New Group... : If you select this option, an input box will be displayed asking you for a name of this new group.
      • Enter the new group name in the New Group Name input box

  6. Click Apply Changes. You are brought back to DomainCentral. Notice that the domains you chose to group are no longer listed under My Ungrouped Domains section. These domains can now be found either in the new group you created or added to the existing group.

To ungroup domains, or to remove domains from a group:

  1. Select the check box next to the domain name that you would like to remove from a group. More than one domain can be selected.
  2. Click Modify Selected Domains. The Edit Multiple Domains page is displayed. Notice that the selected domains are listed in the Selected Domains sections.
    1. Verify that all the domains you wish to change are listed in the Selected Domains section.
    2. If you wish to go back and select more domains, or different domains, click the choose other domains... link.
  3. In the Please Choose an Action section, select the Group/Ungroup Domains radio button. Once the button is selected, the appropriate controls appear at the bottom of the page.
  4. In the How do you want these domains to be grouped? drop down box select the Ungroup These Domains option. Once you apply the changes, the selected domains are removed from their group and placed back into the My Ungrouped Domains list.
  5. Click Apply Changes.
