Configuring: Renewal column codes in DomainCentral

Answer/Solution

In the DomainCentral, in the domain table, in a column called Renewal, several status codes may appear:

  • Auto indicates that the domain is enabled and eligible for processing by our Automated Domain Renewal Service.

    Fifteen days before your domain’s expiration date, our system will initiate the renewal. If you have an unused domain credit, we will apply that credit to the renewal. If not, we will bill the credit card associated with your plan.

    If there is a problem with either your payment or the renewal process, we will notify you by email. If the problem is not resolved, your domain may not be renewed.

  • Manual Renewal Only indicates that the domain is not eligible for the Automated Domain Renewal Service. Possible reasons for this status include:

    • The domain is registered with an unsupported registrar. FatCow only supports certain domain registrars

      If you think your domain is registered with a supported registrar, you can try to update the registrar's data.

      1. In DomainCentral, click the domain name or the Check Status link. The Details page for the domain displays.


      2. Click Refresh Information to request the latest Whois information on your domain and update the information displayed.


      3. If this doesn't change the Renewal status, and you are certain your domain is registered with a supported registrar, contact The Moo Crew for assistance. We might be able to manually correct this setting.

    • The domain's registrar is unknown. Sometimes the registrar information on a domain is in an unfamiliar format, which our tools cannot interpret.

    • The domain's renewal date is unknown. Sometimes the renewal information on a domain is in an unfamiliar format, which our tools cannot interpret.

  • Manual indicates that the domain is eligible for the Automated Domain Renewal Service, but that the service has not been enabled.

    If you want us to automatically renew your domain several weeks before its expiration date, click Enable AutoRenewal.
