What Different Types Of Domain Pointers Are There?

Domain pointers can be specified for any domain showing inside of your domain central. The domain pointers won't have any effect unless the domain's name server settings are assigned to's name servers. There are several different types of pointers:

Home Directory This setting causes your domain to point to the main directory of your hosting account.
Sub-Directory This setting allows you to designate a specific sub-directory for your domain to be pointed to.
URL This setting allows you to designate an outside URL address to point your domain to. Any incoming traffic to this domain will instead redirect to the designated URL. To make the URL pointer work, a directory is created labeled "" with a simple file which will redirects domain visitors based on the type of URL Pointer:
  • Standard Redirect: When redirecting to the new URL, visitors will see the new URL in their address bar.
  • Stealth Redirect: When redirecting to the new URL, visitors will see your domain in their address bar.
Parked This setting points your domain to a generic "parked" page. This parked page has an "Under Construction" notice as well as various links generated by a third party (the links generally hold some relevance to your domain name).
Website This setting allows you to redirect the domain to another one of your domains which is associated with a Weebly Website. The setting is not available if this domain is already affiliated with its own Weebly Website.
