In spite of industry turmoil, Albuquerque web hosting provider enjoys 35% growth rate, customers in 90 countries
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shared web solutions and hosting provider FatCow Web Hosting (www.fatcow.com),
announced today it has reached a 15,000th customer milestone, expanding the company's
customer base by 35% since the beginning of the year and into 90 countries.
This comes on the heels of a series of blows that have severely rocked the
web hosting industry over the past couple months. As major computer hardware
organization Intel folded it's web hosting division, managed hosting provider
Loudcloud stepped out and Interland devoured Interliant's web hosting, Albuquerque
based FatCow Web Hosting managed to nab more market share.
"Although the web hosting industry has faced it's fair share of ups and
downs, the events of the past couple of months have many hosting companies very
concerned," said Jackie Fewell, FatCow's CEO. "We're not. The industry
is overflowing with hosting providers, both large and small. Now, market forces
are weeding out the companies that can't make the grade - FatCow can, and does.
We've seen a 142% gain in revenue generating accounts already this year and
no indication of the trend slowing down," said Fewell.
In an industry where the largest player has captured only 19% of the marketplace,
small, low-end hosting providers continue to claim market share. "If you
have a strong business model, reliable, affordable, quality service offerings
and a creative attitude, your customers will recognize it. FatCow's growing
client base is a testimonial to the value of our hosting services."
As the economy, and specifically the Internet sector cools, analysts predict
the $5.4 billion hosting sector will continue to grow, reaching $12.3 billion
a year by 2004. This, despite the trend toward consolidation and the dwindling
number of dot.coms, has FatCow Web Hosting eagerly looking forward to the future.
